Kai Trump will have numerous well-known supporters when she makes her LPGA debut later this week.

The 18-year-old athlete, who happens to be related to a former US president, was granted a special exemption to participate at the Annika competition in Florida.

Her grandfather, a passionate golfer, possesses numerous courses worldwide and frequently competes against his granddaughter.

"He's quite skilled. I can't reveal details but we play tight competitions," she revealed.

Kai explained that her grandfather, who won't be present, advised her: "Simply don't get nervous."

"He practically suggested to play and enjoy myself," she added.

"From my perspective, he's just an ordinary family member. He's not attending this weekend. He's focused on presidential duties, so he's somewhat preoccupied."

While still amateur, the golfer has participated in only three events in 2024 and maintains ranking 461 in AJGA listings.

But she's able to receive tips from golf legend, romantically involved with her mother.

"He stands as the greatest golfer worldwide," Kai stated.

"Furthermore, he's an even better human being. He advised me to compete, enjoy myself, and go with the flow."

She'll challenge several most prominent players in the sport at this tournament, featuring second-ranked the champion, England's Charley Hull, professional Thompson and last year's winner champion Vu.

The LPGA stated that involving Kai brings golf to different demographics, specifically reaching younger fans.

The young star boasts a massive following and has started an exclusive apparel and wellness label.

The competition starts at 5:30 PM GMT.
