The co-creator of Call of Duty, the mind behind the immensely successful first-person shooter Call of Duty, has passed away in a vehicle crash in California aged 55.

The tragic news was confirmed by Electronic Arts, which owns Respawn Entertainment, the development studio that he helped create.

The celebrated industry figure passed away following his car crashed and caught fire on a highway in Los Angeles on Sunday, as reported by.

"This is an unimaginable loss, and our hearts are with Vince's family, his family, and all those touched by his work," a spokesperson for Electronic Arts said.
