Quoting a Classic: Cary Elwes Remembers His Director

Posting on Instagram, actor Cary Elwes, who was featured in Reiner's 1987 classic *The Princess Bride*, mentioned he finally felt prepared to share openly about his profound loss.

"Enough time has gone by that I can finally articulate my loss into words," wrote Elwes, adding that his introductory moment with Reiner created an instant bond. "When we commenced spending more time together I understood this was someone I desired in my life."

The actor shared behind-the-scenes footage from the production, commenting that he doesn't recollect "a single day without mirth".

"The movie is about devotion, fidelity and selflessness. Things that Rob valued immensely. This is one of the many reasons he was the ideal person to guide it," Elwes continued.

He went on to praise Michele Reiner, noting: "Asserting that they were a great team would be an understatement. My heart still hurts every time I think of you." He ended with a phrase from *The Princess Bride*: "Sure, death cannot stop true love but life is pain without you."

Martin Scorsese Remembers a Colleague and Comrade

In a different tribute, acclaimed director Martin Scorsese paid homage to Reiner, whom he originally knew in the 1970s.

"From the start, I loved hanging out with Rob. We had a natural affinity for each other. He was hilarious and sometimes bitingly funny, but he was never the kind of guy who would take over the room," Scorsese shared.

Scorsese mentioned Reiner's acting part in his 2013 film *The Wolf of Wall Street*, playing the father of the protagonist.

"He could improvise with the best. He was a expert at comedy, he worked beautifully with the cast, and he comprehended the personal struggle of his character," Scorsese added.

Judicial Actions: Autopsy Reports Withheld

This week, a Los Angeles judge decided to bar the release of the Reiners' medical examiner's reports, following a petition from the local authorities.

A judicial mandate put a embargo on the cases to prohibit the public release of "any investigative information, notes, reports or photos" associated with the ongoing investigation.

The Medical Examiner's office had previously confirmed their deaths were the consequence of murder, with a official listing listing the cause as "wounds from an edged weapon".
